Centennial suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Inglewood on the road and fell 62-35. Centennial has struggled against Inglewood recently, as their match on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hawthorne was beaten by Beverly Hills 83-42 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Hawthorne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1037th, while Beverly Hills is ranked 299th).
Jakobi Smith put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points. Alfredo Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hawthorne, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
