After a string of five wins, the Fort Bend Bush Broncos's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 62-39 loss at the hands of Fort Bend Clements. While losing is never fun, Fort Bend Bush can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Fort Bend Clements is ranked eighth).
Fort Bend Clements' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Divine Ugochukwu, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ugochukwu has scored at least 25% of Fort Bend Clements' points. Aziz Olajuwon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Fort Bend Bush's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Fort Bend Clements, they pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Fort Bend Bush will face off against Dekaney at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Bend Clements will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Bend Hightower at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
