Softball Game Preview: Tecumseh Indians vs. Skyline Eagles

Tecumseh is a perfect 3-0 against Skyline since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Indians will square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Tecumseh has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Tecumseh and Pinckney, and Pinckney kept the tradition alive. The Indians lost 12-6 to the Pirates on Monday.

Emma Eldred and Laura Nadeau did some serious damage despite the final result: Eldred went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Nadeau went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and one double. That home run was Nadeau's first of the season. Another player making a difference was London Landini, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Skyline came up short against Bedford on Monday, falling 19-4. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Kicking Mules recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Abby Yuan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Skyline now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Tecumseh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Skyline's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tecumseh has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Skyline, though, as they've been averaging 16.3 hits. Given Tecumseh's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.

Tecumseh took their win against Skyline in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 19-1 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
