Basketball Game Preview: St. Augustine Catholic Wolves vs. Lincoln Prep Lightning

The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Lincoln Prep Lightning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Prep took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Augustine Catholic, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, St. Augustine Catholic strolled past Palo Verde with points to spare, taking the game 61-44. The Wolves pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Titans cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Augustine Catholic had a senior duo take command as Megan Callahan posted 18 points along with seven assists and seven boards and Carolina Georgelos almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The match was Callahan's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Preciado, who put up six points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Prep didn't have quite enough to beat North Valley Christian Academy on Monday and fell 35-32. The Lightning have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Augustine Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Lincoln Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
