Ashbrook was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 3A Big South. Earlier in the week, the Green Wave triumphed over Forestview 40-36.
Ashbrook and the Jaguars played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Ashbrook eventually emerging with a 40-36 victory.
Kings Mountain's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mountaineers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jonathan Clark has thrown for 1378 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Xavier Johnson has 36 catches for 516 yards. Dashan Guest leads the league in rushing with 792 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Big South this week will be when Kings Mountain takes on Crest. At the moment, the Mountaineers are in sixth, while the Chargers are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Kings Mountain and Crest face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Greg Lloyd's team comes in having scored 188 this season, while Mark Barnes' team has scored 267. The Mountaineers scored 20 points last week as they bested North Gaston.
Greg Hill's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,724 from 2,375. The improvement came about via a 40-36 victory over Forestview last week.
