It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Glassboro Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They beat Schalick by the very same score they won with last week: 20-0. Considering Glassboro has won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Glassboro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Sabb, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Glassboro also got a significant boost from Dominic Barr, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.
Glassboro's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by Caron Wright and Brandon Simmons jr who racked up seven sacks between them.
Glassboro is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Schalick, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-1.
Glassboro will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Woodstown at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Woodstown is on a five-game streak of home wins, Glassboro a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Schalick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
