It was a good run, but the Central Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laramie. Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Laramie apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karson Tempel. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Taylin Wade was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Laramie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Forry out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Reese, who scored eight points.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Laramie, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Central will face off against East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laramie, they will be playing at home against South at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. South is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
