Basketball Recap: Addyson Moore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mineral Wells over Bowie

After a string of three wins, Mineral Wells's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 51-39 to the Bowie Jackrabbits. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jackrabbits apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Mineral Wells' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addyson Moore, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points. Aniya Richardson was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Even though they lost, Mineral Wells smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Mineral Wells' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Bowie, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Mineral Wells wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 38-35 defeat against Saginaw on the 10th. As for Bowie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-50 victory against Hale Center on the 5th.
