The Coronado Dons's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Tempe with points to spare, taking the game 36-17. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Coronado also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
Coronado found their leader in underclassman Miranda Moreno, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Moreno continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Ariel Douglas was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Tempe, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Coronado will take on Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dysart has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last seven games. As for Tempe, Tempe and Vista Grande will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Vista Grande knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Tempe likes a good challenge.
