The Indianapolis Washington Continentals posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Purdue Polytechnic and snuck past 41-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Indianapolis Washington.
Clem Butler was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dave Leye, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Purdue Polytechnic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrick Johnson, who scored ten points. Devin Chase was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Indianapolis Washington now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Purdue Polytechnic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indianapolis Washington will challenge Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Purdue Polytechnic, they will head out on the road to take on Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Covenant Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Purdue Polytechnic is ranked 91st).
