East Sierra recap October 8, 2013
Farmersville scaled the state rankings by moving to 636 from 747 this week, the biggest jump in East Sierra. The Aztecs were able to move up by besting Lindsay 45-35.
Farmersville led the league in scoring this week by notching 45 points on the Cardinals. Isaiah Hernandez in the win.
6-foot-0 quarterback Sam Metcalf of David Lewis' team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,157. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Elijah Jimenez. The Laton star has 18 catches for 351 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Laton takes on Orosi. The Mustangs are currently in first, while the Cardinals are in third.
The Aztecs made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,007 from 10,649. The improvement was the result of a 45-35 victory over Lindsay last week.
