After flying high against the Southern Coffey County Titans last Friday, the Waverly Bulldogs came back down to earth. Waverly fell to Classical 55-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waverly in their matchups with Classical: they've now lost four in a row.
Charlie Graham was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Classical. Graham is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Wilkey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Classical, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Waverly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-36 defeat vs. Chase County on the 9th. Classical has also already played their next contest, a 67-39 win against School of the Ozarks on the 10th.
