The Santaluces Chiefs are taking a road trip to square off against the Jupiter Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Santaluces proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 16) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Palm Beach Lakes 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chiefs have posted since March 20, 2025.
Daniel Valentin looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abner Garcia was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Santaluces: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-12 otherwise. Alexander Spainhour also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jupiter Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Palm Beach Gardens 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Harrison Craft, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Valcich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases.
Santaluces' record now sits at 2-13. As for Jupiter Christian, their record is now 7-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Santaluces has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jupiter Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
