Baseball Game Preview: Everglades Gators vs. ABF Academy Cowboys

The Everglades Gators will face off against the ABF Academy Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Everglades' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so ABF Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Everglades got the win against Taravella by a conclusive 9-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Everglades got a big performance out of Alex Mota, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Mota has become a key player for Everglades: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Gabriel Billini was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Mota wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Everglades kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, ABF Academy gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Mater Lakes Academy 4-2.

Juan Fernandez tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Angel Villegas was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Everglades back to even at 6-6. As for ABF Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Everglades has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like ABF Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
