In what's become a running theme this season, the La Vega Pirates gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by Connally on the road to the tune of 63-35. The win was nothing new for La Vega as they're now sitting on nine straight.
La Vega's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiyleyah Parr, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mar?Cyah Willis, who scored 18 points.
La Vega is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season. As for Connally, their loss dropped their record down to 22-11.
La Vega will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hornets at 6:15 p.m. Gatesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 719th, while the Pirates are ranked 11th). As for Connally, they will head out on the road to take on the Rockets at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
