The Queen's Grant Stallions will head out on the road to face off against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen's Grant will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Piedmont Community Charter is ranked 176th).
Last Thursday, Queen's Grant had to suffer through a rough 81-46 loss at the hands of Carolina International. Queen's Grant has struggled against Carolina International recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 69-54 victory over Bradford Prep.
Piedmont Community Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Carmichael, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Carmichael hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Bobby Erwin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Queen's Grant now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Queen's Grant was taken down by Piedmont Community Charter 90-54 when the teams last played last Friday. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Queen's Grant was down 53-20.
