The Ripon Tigers are taking a road trip to  take on the Mayville Cardinals  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
Ripon is leaving town to face Mayville after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Ripon lost  15-2 to Portage on Tuesday. Sadly, the  defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.
  Hayden Baker was cooking despite her team's loss,   going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  doubles and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bryn Carlson, who  went 1-for-2 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Mayville earned  a  6-1 victory over Lake Mills  on Monday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cardinals.
 Allie Schwirtz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Schwirtz was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Schwirtz wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kate Aumann, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Ripon might still be hurting after the  20-0 loss they got from Mayville  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023. Can Ripon avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
