The Orrville Red Riders pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They and Triway were almost perfectly matched up, but Orrville suffered an agonizing 35-34 loss. Orrville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Triway apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Leading Triway to victory were Owen Walter and Brayden Holt. Walter picked up 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Holt threw for 450 yards and five touchdowns. Holt is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Cale Drown also helped out with an impressive 123 receiving yards.
Triway's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Roman Gilbert and his two sacks.
Orrville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Triway, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Orrville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Triway will head out on the road to face off against Harrison Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harrison Central will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
