When it comes to explaining why Ben Lomond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jonathan Alcarez. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Alcarez scored a full 35.8% of Ben Lomond's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Malakai Mack was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Ben Lomond has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for American Prep WV, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
