Brimley is 1-9 against Harbor Light Christian since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bays will welcome the Swordsmen at 4:00 p.m.
Brimley blew Newberry out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Newberry got their revenge. The Bays fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bays were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, Harbor Light Christian came tearing into Monday's game with 16 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let the Vikings on the board, marking their second-straight 17-0 shutout. Considering the Swordsmen have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Harbor Light Christian got a massive performance out of Atticus Cadarette, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Cadarette a new career-high. Travis Rose was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Harbor Light Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 17 consecutive matchups.
Harbor Light Christian's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Brimley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brimley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like Harbor Light Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brimley suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Harbor Light Christian in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Bays have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
