The Bloomfield Bees won the last time they faced the Osmond/Randolph Hawks, and things went their way on Thursday too. Bloomfield enjoyed a cozy 59-40 win over Osmond/Randolph. That looming 59-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bloomfield yet this season.
It was another big night for Madison Abbenhaus, who scored 27 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bloomfield's points. Another player making a difference was Tenly Gilsdorf, who scored 14 points.
Sophie Gansebom and Kaleigh Miller certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Gansebom scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Miller scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Osmond/Randolph were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bloomfield's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Osmond/Randolph, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Bloomfield will head out on the road to face off against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osmond/Randolph will be home for the holidays to greet Hartington-Newcastle at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
