If the Grind Prep G.R.I.N.D were feeling good off their 65-26 takedown of the Munroe Bobcats last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Grind Prep received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 88-72 to Legion Preparatory Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (65), Grind Prep still had to take the loss.
Legion Preparatory Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rayna Williams out in front who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mari Dangerfield, who scored 20 points.
Grind Prep's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Legion Preparatory Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.
Grind Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face D on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (D is ranked third in Florida, while Grind Prep is ranked third in Oklahoma). Legion Preparatory Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Life Prep at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th.
