Baseball Recap: Parke Heritage Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

While Parke Heritage put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cloverdale. The Wolves put the hurt on the Clovers with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Wolves have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Braydon Goodwin made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Renn Harper was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lewie Woody, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Parke Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cloverdale only posted a batting average of .053.

Parke Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cloverdale, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Parke Heritage will challenge North Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargin' Chargers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Cloverdale, they will welcome Clay City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
