Ponderosa is 8-2 against the Fighting Zebras since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Ponderosa Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Ponderosa fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Panthers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.
Keenan Patterson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Travis Bays, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lincoln's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Oakmont by a score of 59-57. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lincoln came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Vikings are ranked 750th).
Ponderosa now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 15-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Ponderosa came up short against the Fighting Zebras in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-50. Can Ponderosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
