Softball Recap: Heights Has No Trouble Against Wisdom

Heights got themselves on the board against Wisdom on Wednesday, but Wisdom never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 16-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Heights got a massive performance out of Evelyn Tovar, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Carreon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Heights has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Wisdom, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heights will head out to face off against Lamar at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wisdom, they will venture away from home to take on Houston Math Science & Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
