Drew Kohler and Will Rankin provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Mt. Olive. The connection went for 84 yards, the longest such play in Prairie State this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Marquette Catholic beat Bunker Hill 56-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Luke Hamlin was a passing and rushing force as Nokomis/Ramsey beat Decatur Lutheran. He completed 7 passes for 150 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 30 yards. Hamlin's key target this week was Austin Chausse, who caught 3 passes for 79 yards.
Kohler put up the best numbers through the air as Metro-East Lutheran lost to the Wildcats. He finished with 6 completions for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kohler's favorite target this week was Rankin, who caught 3 passes for 143 yards.
On the heels of Jacob Neihaus and Blake Bartok, Mt. Olive has had great success on offense. Neihaus is tops in the league in passing with 1,219 yards, while Bartok has rushed for 831 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Knights' Rankin, with 718 yards on 24 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville takes on the Redskins. As it stands, the Ponies are in fourth, while Nokomis/Ramsey is in first.
Marquette Catholic took down the Minutemen 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
