Basketball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology Colonials vs. Falls Church Jaguars

The Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology Colonials will head out to square off against the Falls Church Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.

On Friday, Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology humbled Lewis with a 58-27 victory. Given the Colonials' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Lancers are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kaiden Kerkulah continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 20 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. She has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anika Rhim, who posted ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Falls Church had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wolves 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted since December 6, 2023.

Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Falls Church, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.
