There's no place like home for the Woodland Regional Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against Wolcott by a score of 63-52 on Friday. For Woodland Regional, this counts as revenge for the 67-51 loss Wolcott walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Woodland Regional got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Stepputtis out in front who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten assists. Stepputtis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Napiello, who scored 15 points.
Woodland Regional's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Wolcott, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland Regional will challenge Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Seymour's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Wolcott, they will head out on the road to take on Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilby will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
