Basketball Game Recap: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Amplus Academy Archers

Cheyenne won the last time they faced Amplus Academy, and Diego Cruz did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cheyenne Desert Shields walked away with a 53-43 victory over the Amplus Academy Archers on Wednesday thanks in part to Cruz, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high.

Cheyenne picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Amplus Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Cheyenne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-40 defeat against Canyon Springs on the 13th. As for Amplus Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-52 loss against Southeast Career Tech on the 12th.
