Basketball Recap: Greenwood Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Greenwood Christian Academy came into Tuesday's matchup having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders on Tuesday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 59-55 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Greenwood Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Molly Hunter out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. Hunter is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Myra Finnity, who posted four points in addition to 14 boards and four steals.

Greenwood Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Macie Dill, who put up nine points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Dill has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Chima Onyia was another key player, going 5 of 6 on her way to 10 points.

As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, they will square off against Monrovia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monrovia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
