The Juniata Indians will challenge the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Juniata will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Juniata is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Newport to the tune of 49-14 on Friday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
It was another big night for Jasper Shepps, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 75 yards. Jason Condo was another key player, throwing for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.
Juniata didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Xzavier Rivera, Colten Rowles, and Shepps picked up one apiece. Juniata received some extra help from Isaac Ramirez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Juniata, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Shepps, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Greencastle-Antrim, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Milton Hershey on Friday as they made off with a 41-21 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Blue Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Greencastle-Antrim had a senior duo take command as Blake Reuter gained 169 total yards and two touchdowns and Lars Galinanes rushed for 96 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Reuter also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Blue Devils are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Greencastle-Antrim was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Greencastle-Antrim's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Juniata, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Juniata ended up a good deal behind Greencastle-Antrim when the teams last played back in October of 2024, losing 40-21. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
