It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Evadale had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past the Weimar Wildcats to the tune of 65-37. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matches by 24 points or more this season.
Evadale had a senior duo take command as Jaden Gravis almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards and Warren Brewer went 7-for-14 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds. Gravis has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Talon Bennett was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
The victory was the 18th in a row for Evadale, bringing their record for this year to 31-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.4 points. As for Weimar, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-11.
Coming up, Evadale will face off against Goldthwaite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goldthwaite will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Evadale surely won't give up without a fight. Weimar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
