Tri-Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the New Lexington Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Saturday, Tri-Valley came up short against Harvest Prep and fell 56-43.
Meanwhile, New Lexington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They strolled past Maysville with points to spare, taking the game 70-52. Given New Lexington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Maysville is ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Lexington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenzy McCoy, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCoy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Dick, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Tri-Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for New Lexington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Tri-Valley lost to New Lexington on the road by a decisive 67-52 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Tri-Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
