Wisdom is 1-9 against Sterling since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wisdom Generals will head out on the road to take on the Sterling Raiders at 8:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Wisdom has struggled recently with 11 losses in a row, while Sterling will arrive with six straight victories.
Last Tuesday, Wisdom was beaten by Madison 94-54. While losing is never fun, Wisdom can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1589th, while Madison is ranked 339th).
Meanwhile, Sterling can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They breezed by Northside on the road to the tune of 81-49.
It was another big night for Darnell Williams, who scored 21 points along with four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Augustine, who scored 13 points.
Wisdom has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Sterling, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7.
Wisdom was taken down by Sterling 90-27 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Wisdom avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
