Softball Recap: Haverhill Has No Trouble Against Lawrence

Haverhill got themselves on the board against Lawrence on Wednesday, but Lawrence never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over the Lancers. The contest marked the Hillies' most dominant win of the season so far.

Ava Moscaritolo (2027) made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Moscaritolo (2027) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Emma Proia (2027) and Molly Tabb (2025) did most of the damage at the plate: Proia (2027) went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Tabb (2025) got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That stolen base was Proia (2027)'s first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Mizzaglia (2025), who went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Haverhill and bumps their season record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Lawrence, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haverhill will challenge Pentucket Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Lawrence, they will square off against North Andover at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
