Volleyball Recap: Sophia Rollo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sherman over James Monroe

Sherman saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the James Monroe Mavericks.

Several Tide players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Rollo, who had ten kills, seven digs, and two blocks. Rollo is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last 49 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Emma Russell, who had 21 assists and five digs.

Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for James Monroe, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-7-1.

Sherman has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 tie against Buffalo on the 4th. As for James Monroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Williamstown on the 4th.
