Young Men's Leadership Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Diamond Hill-Jarvis on the road by a decisive 58-42 margin. Young Men's Leadership Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Diamond Hill-Jarvis apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Diamond Hill-Jarvis was led to victory by Anthony Elizondo and Elijah Hernandez. Elizondo dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Hernandez scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Elizondo has scored at least a third of Diamond Hill-Jarvis' points.
Young Men's Leadership Academy dropped their record down to 5-17 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-18.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Carter-Riverside the next time they take the court. Diamond Hill-Jarvis will host Carter-Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Young Men's Leadership Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
