Savannah Sevier was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gerritt Griggs, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Madison County won against North Jackson last Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Kate Duncan Smith DAR. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Not much got past Marion Gamble, who gave up just six hits to keep Kate Duncan Smith DAR off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Livy Huter, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Allison Yeary also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Madison County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kate Duncan Smith DAR only posted an OBP of .190.
Central's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Madison County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9.
Both Central and Madison County just can't seem to miss. The Red Devils have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Madison County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
