It was a good run, but Marian Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 59-40 bruising from Mahanoy Area. While losing is never fun, Marian Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Mahanoy Area is ranked 70th).
Despite the loss, Marian Catholic still got an impressive performance from Jesse Rodino, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was James Rodino, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Marian Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Mahanoy Area, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-0.
Marian Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tri-Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday. Mahanoy Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
