The Aquinas Monarchs lost against the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Aquinas fell 51-41 to Bishop Neumann. While losing is never fun, Aquinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Bishop Neumann is ranked 11th).
When it comes to explaining why Aquinas lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryant Stouffer. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Stouffer scored a full 36.6% of Aquinas' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Garett Novacek, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bishop Neumann, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Aquinas' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Osceola at 7:45 p.m. on December 15th. As for Bishop Neumann, they will head out on the road to face off against Cornerstone Christian School on Friday.
