The Valley Vikings and the Piedra Vista Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Valley Vikings had to settle for second. Valley's tough 30-6 defeat to Piedra Vista might stick with them for a while. Valley's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tazhe Wilson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Piedra Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Piedra Vista will head out on the road to face off against Artesia at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Artesia is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
