Shade has gone a perfect 10-0 against Salisbury Elk Lick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will challenge the Elks at 7:00 p.m. Shade will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Shade beat Ferndale 3-1.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-13, 25-23.
Shade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Oakes, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Oakes has posted over her last six matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Naret, who had 11 digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Shade was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They are a perfect 8-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Salisbury Elk Lick made easy work of Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Elks in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.
Salisbury Elk Lick walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-15.
Salisbury Elk Lick picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 7-11-2. As for Shade, their record now sits at 11-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Shade has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Salisbury Elk Lick struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Shade's way against Salisbury Elk Lick in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Shade made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
