The Concord Christian Academy Minutemen lost against the Faith Baptist School Falcons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Concord Christian Academy's tough 39-13 defeat to Faith Baptist School might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Concord Christian Academy in their matchups with Faith Baptist School: they've now lost five in a row.
Concord Christian Academy got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Abigail Veturys and
Brooke Flippo, who each put up four points.
Leading Faith Baptist School to victory were Kiersten Yates HS and Nevina Jenkins HS. Yates HS scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, while Jenkins HS scored six points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. Jenkins HS hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Reinert, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Concord Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Faith Baptist School, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord Christian Academy will challenge Faith Baptist School at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Faith Baptist School, they will head out on the road to square off against Holly Grove Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Holly Grove Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Faith Baptist School is ranked 35th).
