Lewis & Clark recap November 19, 2013
Marceline moved up to 133 from 185 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lewis & Clark. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of topping Westran 13-9.
Marceline added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Hornets, 13-9. The win marks seventh in a row for the Paul Thomas' team.
Zane Jacoby was a passing and rushing force as Westran fell to the Tigers. He completed 14 passes for 205 yards and also ran for 103 yards. Jacoby's key target this week was Jordan Dennis, who caught 9 passes for 152 yards.
Jacoby was the best running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 103 yards as Curtis Jasper's team fell to Marceline. Teammate Jake Ingebritson added to the ground attack by rushing for 42 yards.
Paris's Kyle Popkes and Slater Stone led Lewis & Clark in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Popkes has thrown for 2,661 yards this season, while Stone has 71 catches for 1,192 yards. Jacoby from the Hornets leads the league in rushing with 1,736 yards.
The Tigers and Westran played the closest game in the league this week, with the Tigers eventually emerging with a 13-9 victory. Blake Linebaugh threw for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 18 yards in the win.
