The Gibsonburg Golden Bears will be playing at home against the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Gibsonburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 win over the Crimson Streaks. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Gibsonburg has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gibsonburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Wasserman, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Jake Hall was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Central Catholic entered their tilt with the Flyers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. St. Mary Central Catholic walked away with a 68-58 victory over the Flyers on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Gibsonburg's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for St. Mary Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Gibsonburg strolled past the Panthers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 55-41. Does Gibsonburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
