The Cary Christian Knights lost against the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cary Christian fell 61-53 to Wake Christian Academy.
When it comes to explaining why Cary Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andrew Neal. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with four steals. That was a full 54.7% of Cary Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gideon Landry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Wake Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Williams, who scored 21 points along with five assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Berkley Coon, who scored 21 points.
Cary Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Wake Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cary Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ravenscroft at 6:45 p.m. on January 17th. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Arendell Parrott Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arendell Parrott Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
