Macon County has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Schley County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Macon County posted their biggest win since December 19, 2023 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dooly County 41-12 on the road. Given Macon County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Dooly County is ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Macon County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aniah Lake out in front who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Towanna Cochran, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Schley County blew past Central, posting a 61-15 win at home.
Macon County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Schley County, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Macon County didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Schley County in their previous matchup on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 42-36 win.
