Adding to the longest winning streak in Butte View this week, Orland beat Corning 13-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Trojans.
Orland scaled the state rankings by moving to 328 from 389 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mike Mcdonald's team was able to move up by besting the Cardinals 13-6.
Jacob Lowrie was a beast in the backfield as Winters defeated Trinity.
Lowrie put up the best numbers in passing as the Warriors topped the Wolves. He finished with 5 completions for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lowrie's favorite target this week was Christian Corrales, who caught 3 passes for 39 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Randy Post of Sutter is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,062. He has also thrown 21 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan Samson. The Wheatland star has 39 catches for 633 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Sutter takes on second place Orland. Last week, the Huskies bested Lassen, while the Trojans beat Corning.
Orland's Arthur Flynn is a mere 22 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Flynn has rushed for 978 yards on 137 carries so far this year.
Winters and Trinity played the most contested game in Butte View this week, with Winters eventually emerging with a 43-42 victory. Lowrie ran for 237 yards during the win.
