The Metter Tigers had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast Bulloch 72-14 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-4.
Metter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zion Saffore led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 7 steals. Chelsea Hewitt was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Metter's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Southeast Bulloch, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metter will square off against Appling County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Bulloch, they will head out on the road to face off against Portal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Portal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
