Basketball Recap: Golden Valley's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Golden Valley had won two straight games and Alex Villejo did his part to make it three on Saturday. The Golden Valley Grizzlies put the hurt on the Royal Highlanders with a sharp 66-40 win thanks in part to Villejo, who went 8 for 15 en route to 24 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Anthony Seragusa, who posted six points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Golden Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Royal, they now have a losing record at 12-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Golden Valley will host Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden Valley is facing Canyon at the right time seeing as Canyon is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Royal has already played their next contest (against Oak Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
